What do I need to play Osmo? To play any Osmo game, you will need: A compatible device that’s connected to the internet. Osmo works with most iPads and Amazon Fire tablets.
Do Osmo apps cost money?
Many of our apps are available free of charge, but most of them require game pieces to play, which can be purchased on PlayOsmo.com or through Osmo retailers. Does Osmo work with a Samsung tablet?
Osmo is currently compatible with iPads, iPhones and Amazon Fire tablets. There are currently no firm plans to expand into Android devices, although we’d love to do so in the near future.

Most Osmo games are designed for ages 5-12, so they are perfect for elementary students first learning to code. The game structure is great for younger audiences because it makes computer science fun and instantly rewarding. For younger children, there is a new Osmo Little Genius Starter Kit.

Osmo is not available for Android but there are plenty of alternatives with similar functionality. The best Android alternative is Joplin. It’s not free, so if you’re looking for a free alternative, you could try Standard Notes or Evernote.

Effective September 2019, Osmo has stopped selling the iPhone base and reflector due to low interest in this device and the desire to offer customers the best possible game experience on other platforms. That said, the Osmo games currently downloaded on your iPhone will work just fine!
