Xeroform® Occlusive Dressing is intended for use as a primary contact layer in dressing wounds such as lacerations, skin graft recipient sites, newly sutured wounds, abrasions and minor or partial-thickness burns.
How long can you leave Xeroform on a wound?

How do you dress a wound with Xeroform?

Use clean scissors that you have wiped off with an alcohol swab. Apply lotion or moisturizing cream to the areas where you have trimmed off the Xeroform.

What does bismuth do for wounds?
The compound used in bismuth-impregnated dressings is bismuth tribromophenate (BTP), marketed as Xeroform or as a generic dressing. BTP is antimicrobial, i.e. it inhibits bacterial growth and replication, and so may prevent numbers of bacteria in a wound reaching a level at which infection may occur[22].
Can Xeroform get wet?
