YETI’s ice pack is a reusable brick of ice that lasts at least four years or sometimes even more than that. It is known for its ice retention, which can be as long as 12 to 24 hours. Why does Yeti ice have holes?
Yeti Ice is designed with a hole in the middle that serves two purposes. It exposes more of the Yeti Ice to the air in your freezer allowing it to freeze faster so you can use it quicker. It also doubles as a handle so you can quickly grab the center and place it in your cooler or grab it out.
Are ice packs better than ice in a cooler?
Ultimately the answer is no. There is no evidence to suggest that ice in an ice pack will stay colder longer than a similar amount of regular ice loose in a cooler or frozen in a water bottle.
Are some ice packs better than others?
